In the mid 1960's, the spicer changed from a coarse, 10 spline pinion input shaft to a fine, 26 spline shaft. New crown wheel and pinion sets with the old 10 spline input shaft have not been available for some years now but the solution he been found with this kit. In addition to the crown wheel and pinion, this set consists of an coupling flange with 26 splines and an outer diameter of 2.6875", a matching Timken tapered roller bearing and the required upsetting crush tube for the 26 spline flange.
Cleanest and most precise reproduction of the original part, with the curved toothing (Oerlikon hypoid toothing) required for this highly stressed component. The manufacturing precision is expressed by exemplary smooth running and smooth running means: no premature wear. Highest mileage is guaranteed.
16CrMo4 blanks drop-forged, turned, Oerlikon toothed, hardened. All sets tested (even the noise pattern!), final inspection, packed in matched pairs with protective oil.
