Fuel tank
Jaguar: E-Type Series 1 and 2 (1961-70)
aluminium. Competition type with 100 litre capacity
This is a large aluminium baffled fuel tank which fills the whole area beneath the boot flooring, but allows that flooring to be in place giving a standard appearance.
It uses the standard filler cap location and the standard sender unit.
The sender unit mount is a machined unit which is welded in place on the inside. It comes complete with a new gasket and x6 stainless steel retaining bolts and washers.
The fuel pick up sits in a lower sump (with the drain plug). The design ensures a constant fuel supply during cornering and acceleration.
The sump is designed to be protected from road debris, or stones from a race circuit's gravel trap, by an aluminium cover.
