Please note the following when fitting XJS Convertible hoods:
The original rear window needs to be removed from the hood frame before fitting the new hood to the car, once the hood has been fitted to the hood frame. The headlining remains unaffected. Then the top needs to be stapled around the original window frame and the window bonded back in place.
This is not a job suitable for the inexperienced and needs to be carried out by a professional workshop.
Two different materials are available.
Everflex hoods
Everflex is a durable high quality vinyl hooding that is waterproof and retains the 'original factory look' of your classic. Made from Cabriotex™ Classic British Vinyl with factory original appearance.
These hoods have 1.00 mm original thickness, and they are fitted with UV stabilised Renolit 'Flexglas' plastic windows with DOT approval. We use computer cut for a precise fit.
Mohair hoods
A superior quality canvas material considered to be the finest car hooding material available and used as original equipment by many of the worlds luxury car manufacturers. We have seen 20 plus years old examples of hoods made from this fabric that still look as good as new.
Mohair does not require any special treatments and is available in various colours.
