Collector for oil vapour and oil mist.
Required for vehicles whose air filter has been converted and which therefore lack a catchment for the crankcase ventilation.
Due to the so-called "blowby", there is always slight overpressure in the crankcase. This mist of oil, water vapour and unburnt petrol is normally drained into the air filter and then burnt off.
Disadvantage of the method: contamination and corrosion can occur in the intake stroke.
If the "blowby" is directed into a separate container instead, the residue of the oil mist and the condensation water can be disposed of properly.
