Our recommendation for your Porsche

The Porsche 912

The Porsche 912 was produced from 1965 to 1969 as an entry-level model in the price segment of the last Porsche 356 models. The car had a Porsche four-cylinder engine with 90 hp and was offered as a Coupé and a Targa. Initially, the car was somewhat more simply equipped than the 911 models, later the equipment was partially equalised.

The Porsche 914

The Porsche 914 replaced the Porsche 912 as the entry-level model. The 914 was sold as a VW-Porsche in Germany and as a Porsche in the main sales market, the USA. Only one body style was available, a two-seater mid-engined sports car with a removable roof. The four-cylinder engines initially offered 80, later 100hp, the engine came from Volkswagen from the Type 411. The six-cylinder engines came from Porsche from the 911T and delivered 110hp. The 914 was produced until 1976.

The Porsche 924

The Porsche 924 appeared in 1976 as the successor to the less successful VW-Porsche 914. The very well designed vehicle was a 2+2 seater with front engine and rear-mounted gearbox. The 2.0 ltr. four-cylinder engine produced 125 hp and provided very appealing driving performance. In 1985, the 924 was replaced by the 924S, which now had a new engine producing 170 hp. The turbo model, available from 1979 to 1982, showed the possibilities of the concept, the Carrera GT, available only in 1981, demonstrated the development potential of the car. The 924 was offered until 1988.

The Porsche 944

The Porsche 944 is the technically successful further development of the 924 and was offered from 1981. Porsche developed its own four-cylinder engine for the 944, which initially offered 150 hp. From 1986, the 944S offered 190 hp. The most powerful version was the Turbo 2S, which delivered up to 300 hp. The 944 was produced until 1991, when it was replaced by the Porsche 968.
