The conrod and main bearings are elementary components in the engine. The price of replacement parts alone is low, but replacing the bearings is very time-consuming.
We therefore recommend the best technical solution, namely modern three-material bearings. A copper layer is first applied to the steel base material. On top of this is a nickel layer as a barrier layer and a white metal layer as the actual sliding layer. All bearing shells are also available in several oversizes. This makes crankshaft overhauls possible, during which the crankshaft can also be ground to today's standard low clearance.
The manufacturer is a world market leader in the production of plain bearings for aircraft engines and particularly highly stressed bearing shells in the motorsport sector. Engine manufacturers value these three-material bearings due to their outstanding dimensional accuracy and low tolerances.
