Land Rover: Series II and IIA (1958-71), Series III LHD models (1971-85)
LH front. Variant made from ABS plastic without aperture for fresh air heater intake
These exact-fitting, high-quality reproductions are made of 2 mm thick ABS (Acrylonitrile-Butadiene-Styrene copolymer) plastic and are in no way inferior to the originals, especially if they were made of aluminium. Oxidation and contact corrosion are now a thing of the past.
ABS plastics are thermoplastics, so even complex contours and shapes of high-quality car body parts can be produced. ABS plastic is extremely robust and highly impact resistant even at low temperatures. For decades, bumpers of mass produced vehicles, among other things, have been made of ABS plastics because they meet the requirements for splintering behaviour.
This plastic can be easily painted. The use of plastic adhesion primers is recommended in order to achieve a hard-wearing and scratch-resistant paint finish.
